Richard & Janet

When we first met our clients in September 2023, they invited us to help reimagine several key spaces within their beautiful Georgian farmhouse, including two ensuite bathrooms and the main house bathroom.

A timeless, elegant space...

The finished design is a refined blend of traditional bathroom styling and contemporary luxury, carefully tailored to suit its historic setting. Deep, heritage-inspired panelling wraps the room, grounding the space with architectural presence while adding depth and warmth. This classic detailing is paired with soft neutral tones and natural stone flooring, creating a calm, balanced backdrop that feels both sophisticated and inviting.

Encouraging relaxation

At the heart of the room sits a striking freestanding bateau bath, positioned beneath the window to make the most of natural light and garden views. Its sculptural form becomes a focal point, complemented by elegant chrome bath fittings that nod to traditional design while maintaining a clean, timeless feel. This arrangement encourages relaxation and elevates everyday bathing into a spa-like experience.

Opposite, the traditional curved vanity unit provides practical storage without compromising on style. Finished in a rich Georgian-inspired blue-green with classic detailing, it is topped with a smooth stone surface and paired with a large bespoke illuminated panelled mirror, enhancing both functionality and atmosphere. The layered lighting scheme ensures the bathroom transitions effortlessly from bright and practical to soft and ambient.

A stunning transformation...

A key element of the renovation was improving storage, essential for a busy household. We designed a custom-built linen cupboard, seamlessly integrated into the layout. This thoughtful addition provides ample space for towels and toiletries, keeping the bathroom beautifully organised while maintaining a clean, uncluttered aesthetic.

respectful of period architecture

The walk-in shower continues the same considered design language, featuring elegant herringbone wall tiles and a discreet glass screen to preserve openness. A built-in niche offers convenient storage, while traditional chrome brassware adds a classic finishing touch, tying the space together cohesively.

The completed house bathroom is a perfect reflection of our approach to bespoke bathroom design: respectful of period architecture, tailored to modern living, and finished with exceptional attention to detail. The result is a luxurious yet practical Georgian farmhouse bathroom that will stand the test of time, offering comfort, beauty and everyday ease for years to come.
